The motto of the 13th Air Force-42nd Bomb Group was “The Skies for Us” The 42nd adopted the nickname ‘Crusaders’ and displayed the Croix de Lorraine on the tail of their B-25 Mitchells. It was one of the most recognizable bomb group markings in the Pacific theatre.
