The town of West Concord , MN served as the setting for this painting. My source of inspiration was a scene I remember from my youth. I distinctly remember driving at night with my mom and dad across the winter landscape of southeast Minnesota and seeing either a barn or a grain bin with a single star positioned on the very top. The simplicity of the bright star set against the darkness of the surrounding farmland was so striking to me and seemed to capture so perfectly the beauty of the Christmas season.
